Importing Commercial Projectors from China: MOQ, Certification & Logistics Checklist

A plain-English checklist for distributors buying their first container — certifications, HS-code considerations, QC and the questions a serious factory should answer.

Sourcing projectors from China can deliver serious margin, but the difference between a smooth first order and a customs problem is preparation. This checklist covers what to verify before you place a deposit.

Certification for your destination market

Confirm CE for the EU, FCC for the US, and the market-specific marks you require, and request dated certificates and test reports in the legal manufacturer's name — not a generic catalogue scan.

MOQ, private label and lead time

Stock models may ship in low MOQ; private-label logos, packaging and firmware typically start higher and take longer. Lock the BOM and firmware version before mass production.

Quality control and inspection

Agree AQL levels, an inspection before shipment, burn-in duration and dead-on-arrival handling in writing.

Logistics and after-sales

Projectors are high-value, moderately fragile goods: agree packaging standards, spare-unit percentage, warranty terms and local repair arrangements before the first container.

Frequently asked questions

Questions on this topic

Can you do EXW or FOB?
We quote EXW by default and can arrange FOB Shenzhen; your local duties and import VAT remain your responsibility.
What is the usual private-label MOQ?
It depends on the model and whether firmware changes are needed — we will give exact numbers against a chosen model rather than a generic figure.
If you send us your screen size, throw distance and ambient-light condition, we will return a written brightness calculation with the ANSI assumptions shown — no generic catalogue answers.
